Can you give a brief introduction to AADF?

We are Chris and Ric, two guys from Dinslaken (Niederrhein) Germany. AADF was found at the end of 2008. We make electronic music.

Both you and Ricardo were members of reAdjust before starting AADF, what experiences did you take with you from that period? What is the best memory you have?

Ric: I could collect more experiences in producing music. The best memory.. Hmm.. a really fantastic sound guy at the "little devil" in Tilburg ;).

Chris: A few experiences in songwriting and the feeling of playing live on stage. The best memory.. Maybe many people can´t imagine but it was playing live at the chaotic "Essen Original" Reflection Dark, because nothing could stop us to make the people move ;)

What was the reason that both of you left reAdjust?

The short version.. Disagreements in making music and the interpersonal. So we decided to do music on our own completely stressless ;).

The myspace profile says that both you and Ricardo do 50% of the work, how does this work in reality, do you rehearse and jam together?

Oh yes of course we do. One of us has an idea, sometimes only a melody or a beat and sometimes a complete song. We consider lyrics for that, try it out and if we like it we will record this. And in this way a song comes into being over a short or sometimes a longer period ;).

How did you come up with the unusual name AADF, what does it mean?

It was a spontaneous idea while thinking about a band name. AADF describes how melodys and beats come to the listeners ears *lol*. At the moment it´s still a secret what its  true meaning is ;). What are names anyway.. It´s maaaaagic *ping*.

How would you describe the music of AADF?

Hard to describe.. we know we can´t invent music new and don´t try to create a fantasy music style that doesn´t exist. We both have our influences. The music meets somewhere between electro, industrial, future pop and techno. We just do what we want to do and what we like and we know we can´t hit everyones taste... but we try ;).

You use clean and distorted vocals, what makes you decide what to use where?

At first we are glad that we have the option to do both. How harder the song, so harder the vocals. How softer the song... - you know :)

It is the first time you are singing, how was it at the beginning to start singing for you?

Well, I`m an infamous singer under the shower ;) - no, to be serious, six or seven month ago i recorded some vocals just for fun. I showed Ric the recording while hanging around and drinking beer. I was suprised that he liked it. So we decided to record more of my angels voice ;) ...

You just released your first demo, produced by Jan L of XMP, how did you get him to do it, after all he is a well respected and well known producer? How was it to work with him?

We know his mastering work from compilations like "Sündenfall". He brings volume and maximum power into the music. So I sent him an e-mail an we made the deal and only a few days later, we got our mastered demo. We are really satisfied with his work.

How are the comments on this demo so far, it seems you are played in clubs and on radiostations already?

We are suprised and happy about the feedbacks. 90 % were positive and for the the other 10 % was the music a bit too soft. We had a lot of promo requests from DJ´s all over the world. Our music has been played in different clubs and radios. Sometimes DJ´s send us playlists and give us a feedback about the reactions of the audience. I had the pleassure to hear our music at several discos and see the people dance, i was lucky they don´t run away holding hands on their ears ;).

After the demo you made a piano version of Demon Girl, why did you this?

Because we love the song and wanted to make a ballad interpretation of it. I´m a big fan of piano sounds.

How can people purchase the demo?

Well, the demo is not for sale. It´s only for promotion. So, if you are a DJ or promoter feel free to contact us ;)... I think we will have enough stuff for an album at the end of the year. Of course we would be very happy to have an official release but we are not sure how to realize that... selfrelease?.. label?.. who knows..

What is the next step for AADF?

Making more songs, making more promotion, hope to get some of our tracks on compilations.
