Please introduce the band and members for those who don’t know you so far?
Alien Produkt are formed by 4 members at present:
UTB in the voices, lyrics and programming
Ricardo [Alien] in synthesis, programming, mastering, mixing and concepts
Laura [M] : female voices, choirs
Loregore in choirs
Well… Alien Produkt was born at the end of the year 97 due to the need to express our
pleasures for the music, we took several formations, to the beginning shaped by Leoisis,
Osvaldo S and Ricardo Alien, as that one then. We were invited to play in Peru in a place
so-called “ Sergeant Pepper ”, on the following year Leoisis it leaves the band. To form
one dedicated to the synthpop called “ Scherzo “ and it joins Alien Produkt Pablo Dunkel
who informs of our first album debut “ Revenge “,in the year 2000 Osvaldo "S" leaves the
formation to create “ Punto Omega ” and joins to the time “ UTB “.
In the year 2004 I join “ Loregore “, and in 2006 we discover “ Laura [M] ” the whole prodigy
for us, giving a very special touch to our new album “ IGNORANCE “ basically we do what we
like doing, for on all the things the friendship and the same taste joins us for the music, we
like the EBM but it did not cold as one day this style was defined , but also it must have feeling
expressed by the melodies and chords. We want to come to the people with our music that in
addition to dancing it could enjoy and to share what we feel. We want to influence so that this
asleep humanity wakes up. Contributing although it is a bit so that the future generations
have a beautiful place to live.
You use female vocals as well these days, why did you add them to the sound of
Alien Produkt (I really love them).
I believe that the female voices are a very important complement in our music, to
balance the vocal aggressiveness of UTB and to give a special touch in our music
also...we love the female voices jeje!
We’ve been waiting for awhile for the new album, what did you do in the time between Revenge and Ignorance?
Between Revenge and Ignorance there was a very important change when we throw Revenge
we already had more than the half of the tracks of our new album Ignorance!
The work of production, mixing and mastering take us almost 1 year, to achieve like that the
sound and the quality for that we were looking. Ignorance is the result of the maturation as a
band, we know what we do and to where we want to come we can say that we have achieved
it on this disc and we want to share it with the people. Musically there is more varied, some
instrumental (darkness among us , courtain of shadows)tracks others harsh and floorkillers
(oscilacion parasita , involution , acceso denegado and more…) combined with Laura's sweet
voice (reality(out of control) , city of fakes), specially the track “reign of ignorance” that is
completely sung by her. Also in the last year 2006 my first son was born " little alien " to whom
I dedicate this disc…
What can we expect from Ignorance?
I believe that in the previous response I am describing a little our new album, but we can add that
there can wait more of Alien Produkt than in our debut " Revenge ". I believe that we come more
to this intimate fiber that each one has and is identified when he listens Ally Produkt. A mirror of
our souls perhaps, a reflex of our experiences and disappointments a light that allows us to see
that we are living in the reign of the ignorance...
You’ve changed throughout the years a lot lyricwise, from extraterrestrial to
more social issues. Does the name Alien Produkt still suits you?
Completely the name Alien Produkt identifies us, wherefrom the name of our band went out
where the "alien"" [Ricardo] towards his product in the laboratory of armed with antennas.
It is inevitable not overturning in the lyrics the social realities that have us to live serious more
than hypocrite not to do it, at least this way we believe it.
How important is the fact that you live in Argentina for the lyrics?
In what way does it influences the lyrics?
To live in Argentina really much does not influence in our lyrics, except the track " psychiatric workaholic " that if it reflects the labor reality of our country where the
businessman wants to win every day more reducing the wages of the workpeople and
creating also a labor ambience full of greed and envy. But the false and treacherous
people exist in the whole world, only that our experiences with persons that we were
feeling like of our family that they have betrayed us influenced in the composition of some
songs as for example “city of fakes” inspired by an acquaintance “pseudo guru” of the local gothic scene. “oscilacion parasita” for example emphasizes the mediocrity of the dj's
that there believe artists and the musical “pizza” that they spread producing this way a
degradation of the electronic music.
When I talk to people hailing from South America, they almost everytime mention
you as being so important for the scene. How do you look on those statements
and what do you do besides Alien Produkt in music?
Really we are very happy by much that they think that thing about us! We do really what we feel and we like apart from Alien Produkt we have a radioshow
for 16 years called " the trashnoche " which transmit in 99,5mhz Union fm and at
present in real-time at our web "www.latrashnoche.com" every Saturday of 20 to
24hs, we spread the following styles ebm-industrial-gothic-synthpop we help also to
new bands that begin in our studio " alienlab”.
Alien Produkt is now around for 10 years. What are the highlights in this anniversary?
Alien Produkt is in permanent evolution and this year we hope to take part of important
events and festivals beginning in March here in Buenos Aires, hope to come to more fans!
Can we expect anything special for the 10 year anniversary?
