Who is Viola?

It's really hard to give a description of my person. I will probably give a wrong image of myself ... it's better to hear what the other tell about me.

To what music did you listen as a child?

When I was a child, I used to listen a lot of classical music and some important Italian songwriters as Fabrizio De Andrè, Francesco Guccini and Francesco De Gregori. I'm very sure that listening this kind of music has influenced a lot my way to view things.

You started playing flute at a very young age, why did you choose a flute?

My uncle is a musician. So many years ago i was wandering in his house, there were instruments everywere. I "met" a very beautiful wodden flute. His sound was so sweet and from that moment i decided to play it forever.

I started playing the piano because of my music studies. To lern "armony" and "composition". I also decided to chose it as my "complementary" instrument to the flute. I fell immediatly in love with it. The piano create a special relationship with the musician ... it doesn't leave you go ...

What is your favorite instrument to play and why that one?

Going on with the years the Piano has been able to involve me always more.
It is almost alive, i can feel it under my fingers.

All my faith lost is formed in 1999 by Frederico and Francis, you joined later. When did you join and what made you join the band?

In that period i was studying music at school and i also used to play sometimes, for fun, with a rock band.  Often, during the rehearsal sessions used to come a friend of my bandmates. A very silent guy. One day he asked me to join his band ... a band making very delicate music. That guy was Francis and I immediatly accepted the proposal.

Poems are important for All my faith lost, what is your favorite poem?

It's very hard to chose only one poem. I can speak about the  Poets I really love;
Pier Paolo Pasolini, Arthur Rimbaud, Giacomo Leopardi, William Blake, Apollinaire, Samuel Beckett. These are not the only ones .. I'm a great reader.

 I write poems, but they're only for myself. They're really personal and so, almost uncomprehensible.

What inspires you in writing lyrics?

At the beginning the song is only a thought, there are images and meanings inside the head,
before the words to come. Then we compose the music. After hearing the melody several times, the words seem to come alone, to born by themselves.

All my faith lost is a bit in contrary with the influence of the vatican/catholic church in Italy. How do you feel about the big influence the vatican has in Italy?

Italy is a Nation that has so many serious problems; Vatican is one of these.

You did some concerts already, how is it to play your music live?

I really like to play live, I observe carefully the reactions in the audience, when
the gig has just finished. We have always had great satisfactions in live performances.

In what environment do you think your music will come out best live?

 In a sea, in a lake, in a river ... ... or in a teardrop :-)

Yes, our live gigs are marked by our stillness. In this way, you will not guess it, we can feel the audience really closer.

What are your personal goals (in and outside music)?

Being able to go so far with "all my faith lost ..." it is a great satisfaction. There are so many beautiful things in my life, maybe i prefer to talk you about them in another way, another time. Anyway, the persons close to me are the ones that give sense to every thing.

The music of All my faith lost is very romantic, are you a romantic person yourself?

The music of "all my faith lost ..." reflects the persons we are. I've always loved delicate, dreaming and sometimes mysterious atmospheres.

How does your ultimate romantic evening look like?

 I'm  a very reserved person. My romantic evenings are secret  .... :-)

Some of your pictures on myspace are quite erotic, do you like these pictures and what is it what you want to express with this?

That pictures weren’t thought to be sensual. They capture poses and dresses that belong to my person.
