Who is Arielle Andersson? Tell us a bit more about you?

Even do I spend quite an amount of time thinking about this life, and all the injustice in it, Am I a fairly cheerful young woman. Except during mornings, then I'm not so nice to be around... I grew up in a small town at the Swedish westcoast called Lysekil. For now I live in Gothenburg, am single, but share the flat with Fredrik, the other member of OctoLab. I also have two cats, Synthax and Diablos.

I love to spend time with my close and loved ones, the more the marrier!

Music is life, but I also enjoy going to the cinema, watching films at home and play videogames. I guess you could say that I'm something of a collector of videogames and consoles. My favourite games includes fighting and Japanese role playing games. I have a reputation of being a bad looser, but i'm not sure if I'd agree with that. :)

How did you get involved in the music scene?

The interest in music runs in the family, even if I'm the only one involved in a musical project right now. My stepfather was a professional musician and I used to go with him on tour as a child. So I guess that's where it all started.

Sometime in my pre teens I went through my uncles vinyl-records, and it didn't take long until I discovered band like Kraftwerk, Front242, Nitzer Ebb, Skinny puppy and Depeche Mode. My three elder siblings wasn't exactly thrilled over their little sisters taste in music as the strictly listened to hardrock :).

I started my first synth band at the age of 12, and I participated in a number of different bands. I even had a very short career as a drummer in the hardrock group A Cat.

By the end of upper secondary scholl I got to know the jazz musician Benny Engels. He ran a music centre, where me and my friends spent almost every waken hour. It was here we started the girl electro band Aggregath. We did quit a few gigs, and that was how I met Fredrik Lundvall, who played with Novelty at the time. Shortly after we met, Spektron was formed. Fredrik, me and a third member from Spektron started working on a side project. After a while, only me and Fredrik was left in the project, and that was the beginning of todays OctoLab.

What are your biggest dreams?

To be immortal and have superpowers :).

What is the most romantic thing that ever happend to you?

Romance, hmmmmm... I can't say I've experienced any. I'll answer that question when I've found Mr. Right.

Arielle

How do you prepare for a live concert? Does it help against nerves?

I'm always nervous before entering the stage, but after two laaaarge glasses of Lambrusco I tend to feel a lot better :). When I finally get up there, leaving the stage is the hardest part!

Which persons had a big influence on your life and how did they influence it?

It's a really hard question to answer. I get inspired by all people I meet, in one way or the other. Every day is a day to get inspired by humanity.

How does your ideal day, the ultimate Arielle day, looks like?

I get up, have breakfast and watch anime. Then I get ready to meet friends for coffee down town, shopping and maybe playing pool. After that I go back home to play some videogame and write or record music. Before I go to bed I watch a good horror movie.

What was/is your biggest dream and how did you achieve it?

Well, getting a record-contract was certainly one of my biggest dreams, and now we've achieved that, and it's an incredible feeling. So my next thing to dream of is that we'll have a successful future.

Your about to release the debut cd for OctoLab. What are your expectations?

I am verry happy for the oppertunity to release an album. Hope there will be alots of preformance and not received too bad reviews.

What do you prefer, books or movies and what's your favorite?

I must say that I prefer films before books, because it takes longer time too get through a book and time is something that I don't have too much of. So far I must say that The Da Vinci Code is the best book I have read. Film is much harder to answer cause there is a number of good movies out there, but ofcourse Chucky (in Childsplay) and Freddy Krueger ( in Terror on Elm Street) films are unforgettable and I must not
forget Mars Attack.
