Can you give a brief introduction to Arise-X?
Arise-X play hard and danceable music with a lot of melody.
Concernig our lyrics we might be provocative sometimes because we say clearly what’s on our mind.
Arise-X is born after mechanical horizon splitted, why did Mechanical Horizon split and did you already have plans to start a more club orientated band?
Before I was active with the Band Mechanical Horizon.
We had different ideas about the moving on of the band. Therefore I decided to produce only club music. Hard, danceable always, however, nevertheless, always very tunefully.
Who are the members of Arise-X and what is their background?
There is Cecropia who sings and plays the keyboards.
Mysteric is responsible for the visual conversion and also plays the keyboards on live events.
Peloquin is the main singer and above all responsible for the music and the lyrics.
You just released X-Nation, how are the comments on it so far?
Up to now the reactions have been very positive.
However, there is a lot for us to do and make the new album more famous.
This is just the beginning.

You released the album yourself, why releasing an album yourself and not by a label?
We have been searching a lot for a suitable label, however, but we didn’t find one which was compatible to our imagination. Therefore we decided to do it on our own.
We just didn’t have the right partner with the interest to push the band.
Some songs are in English and some in German, why use both languages?
This makes the whole thing more interesting for us.
Some things are more easily expressed in the own language, besides we also wanted to create a little bit variety.
I’ d also appreciate to work with different languages like French or Spanisch but unfortunately I cannot speak any of them. Let’s see what the future brings.
You make music for clubs, what makes a song a good club song according you?
The rhythm should be in the centre.
Listening to the song you should hardly be able to stand quietly.
A good club song should make you move.
You cannot stand quietly, you just have to move your body to the music.
What are sources of inspiration for you when writing new songs?
I am always inspired from the things around me, from the medias like tv and newspaper. But I also feel inspired by movies, for example especially horror movies contribute a lot to the dark art.
On some songs we can hear the vocals of Cecropia as well, how do you decide which songs need female vocals?
As already said we simply want to bring a little bit more of everything into our music.
Some subjects simply demand for this contrast.
Moreover I think this is more interesting than a crowed album. I just love variety if the listener doesn’t know what to expect from the next song because they don’t have the same theme. This acquires a new dynamic for the whole album.

What are the subjects of the lyrics, what are they about?
The songs contain personal themes.
Subjects from everyday’s life about which I am thinking a lot.
Sometimes simply “what if stories”.
These are stories more or less from the dark side inside of me.
Why do you use nicknames?
Usual names don’t fit in with the band’s presentation.
Arise-X are another world. The names shall represent the band and the themes.
Every name has his own personal story and has been chosen through several aspects so everybody can identify with it.
How important is the visual aspect for Arise-X, do you want to make a statement with that?
The visual aspect is very important for us.
Even through our appearance we reflect the content of our music.
It is about darkness and abysses, however, also about beauty and light.
Besides, we also wanted to contrast here with the other Bands in order to attain a certain recognition value.
Germany has many band dark electro bands these days, is this a positive thing or not, you can help each other but on the other side, it would be harder to get concerts?
Me personally, I don’t think we are competing with any other bands.
We make ours and there is an amount of bands there making theirs and you also do a good job.
It is important to remain authentic and to do what you like and of what you are proud.
Other bands can be helpful in this way and therefore it is more a cooperation stamped by mutual respect than fighting each other. One can learn from each other and this helps all of us to improve.
