For our readers who aren't familiar with your work, who is Bella Lune?
Bella Lune is a gothic/synthpop/darkwave band from Phoenix, AZ USA. We have shared the stage with Peter Murphy, Nitzer Ebb, The Cruxshadows, Ayria, Voltaire, Lycia, Bella Morte, Seileen and more. We just toured in Japan and the West Coast USA this year.
Your music focusses on the vocals primarily and instrumental secondly, was it a conscience decision to create the songs this way?
The funny thing is, the vocals are usually the last part of the song to be written and recorded; Other than a couple of songs like Underwater and Moonbow which I wrote with just my voice and acoustic guitar.
What is the driving force behind the inspiration to write the songs you make?
Kal3id and I are the songwriting team, and we are very inspired by dark and moody music. I also enjoy having an outlet for self expression and the opportunity to help others.
Do you believe it's important to have a feeling or emotion behind a song?
Absolutely!

How do you express yourself when playing live? What kind of atmosphere do you give the audience?
We feed off of our audience's energy so that keeps it fun and interactive. We always have gogo dancers in our shows, so its also very sexy and energetic.
You have been compared to such bands as Switchblade Symphony and Collide, how do you feel about those comparisons?
We love both of those bands, so I am honoured when we get those comparisons. Actually, Collide recently donated their merch for a benefit show and auction that we hosted and headlined for ChildHelp.org (they save child abuse victims).
How did you get involved with ChildHelp.org?
Our lead dancer and fetish/fashion model, Cat, suggested them to me.
Do you feel that Gothic style bands don't get as much exposer compared to bands of other genres?
Yes, unfortunately in 2010 that seems to be the case. Back in the 80s and early 90s I think it was much more mainstream accessible. Radio (in the US anyway) used to be so much cooler in the 80s than it is now.
Does the music influence your personal life and vice versa?
My lyrics are sometimes influenced by my own personal situations. The songs that I write the progressions for have a lot to do with my moods. I do everything from the songwriting and production (along with kal3id), marketing, management, graphic design, as well as promotions and social networking (along with the rest of the band), which doesn't leave time for much else. Lol. Even if I am out at a club I'm still networking and promoting. It never ends....

So when your not busy networking how do you relax after such a hectic schedule?
Making and listening to music is always relaxing. I like petting my two black kitties... I also do modeling as a hobby and run a local goth website: phxgoth.com
Is there anyone in the industry you would love to collaberate with?
Robert Smith from The Cure! I've seen them over 50 times in 4 countries. One of my ultimate goals is for Bella Lune or Dreamgaze (my side project) to be an opening band on a Cure tour.
