Can you introduce Colony 5 and the members to our readers?

We are an electropop band from Sweden called Colony 5 consisting of two members; P-O on vocals and KAL on machines.

Untill 2003 Colony 5 always had 3 members but since then it’s just the two of you ,what influence did this have on music and live performances?

Almost nothing at all.

Where does the name Colony 5 come from, it sounds abit like a sci-fi movie?

It’s based on an idea of leaving this planet and founding new colonies with new rules.

Your music changed throughout the years, becoming harder without losing the melodies, is this on purpose or has it to do with you changing as persons?

We cannot not differ one from the other. It’s probably tied together. And consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.

You signed a deal with Infacted Records, how did you get in contact with them and what do you expect from this deal?

We sent an email and got a reply, as simple as that! Torben always seemed like a guy with similar opinions as us so we wanted to work with him and as it happened he was on the same page.

We expect a tighter bond to the German market and we’ve already seen a lot of improvement, most notably on the DAC and on good bookings.

Soon you will release your new full length-album what can we expect from it and what progress have you made since Fixed?

It’s hard for us to point out some progress or evolution, the one thing that is essentially different is the way we approach the C5 entity now. It’s not as focused on success anymore, it’s more an outlet of our own feelings, trying to make songs the way we want to without any sort of rules or boundaries of being commercial but also without being pretentious in being un-commercial. It’s just not important enough to interfere with our dreams.

The title will be Buried Again, why this title and what does it mean for you?

The title hint at sinking into a state of mind, like you do when you lose yourself into a book, film or album.

It almost looks like you 2006 as a year off, why was this?

We just did other things, we still wrote songs on occasion and worked on other stuff like photos and films and poetry.

You will play at summer darkness this year in the netherlands, what do you expect from it and what can people expect from a Colony 5 show?

We expect a carefree, open-minded crowd and we will supply energy and love and intelligence.
