Who is Constance?

I am happy, adore brilliant art and create.

I do a lot of work as a graphic designer, doing artworks and covers for music and other strange stuff...! I love to model for the amazing Annie Bertram (check out www.darkview.de ) And I play in a band called Cinderella Effect (check out www.cinderella-effect.com
www.myspace.com/cinderellaeffect
) and I´m a singer of Blutengel (check out www.blutengel.de ).

I like to behave with integrity and discretion, but i´m the vamp, sometimes... I have strong and a weak side...

Are your strong side and weak side in balance, how do you keep them in balance?

I’ve been through many things in this life and I have made the choice to stay positive. I try to keep the good as well as the bad things in life in mind, so I handle some situations with care. I make my decisions unto my emotions and the things I decide in this way were always the right ones. I learned this over the intervening years. I have no tolerance for hate drama and I can smell lies a mile away. If people think they need to play a role in society and losing their own personality I'll have nothing to do with them in privacy. That’s the secret to keep my balance…

When you were younger, to what music did you listen too?

My father is musician too, so I heard a lot of different sounds during the years. I like the sounds of  the 20ies – 50ies, some classic stuff, operettes from Lehar, Lens, Strauß, Mozart and i love chansons (Marlene Dietrich, Zarah Leander, Tatjana Sais, Heinz Rühmann, Sigfried Arno). I love Tori Amos, Max Raabe, Erasure, Sarah Brightman, System of  a down, Stendal Blast, David Bowie, Tito and Tarantula,
Rauhfaser,Korn, JAW, Sneaker Pimps, IamX, Phil Shoenfelt, Type o Negative, Meat Loaf, Everlast, Client, Mylene Farmer, Jaqueline Kroft, Rob Zombie, Tool, Limbogott, Stabbing Westward, NIN, Portishead, Rage against Machine, Ministry, Chamber, Placebo, Samsas Traum (i had worked with him on a.URA – I´m the godess of cats in his gothic musical ) and many, many more…

I´m listening to Lowe at the moment. Enough bands for today?

Blutengel is a famous band, what is the weirdest thing you’ve experienced with it?

It´s sort of weird, but there are no weirdest things…

Besides Blutengel you started your own project called: Cinderella Effect. Why did you start this project and what are your goals for Cinderella Effect?

I love music and I love different styles… I like to do a kind of music that I love…I want to create my own rules, rhymes and reason…Therefore I did a lot of writings, lyrics and short stories during the last years. So in spring 2005 the idea of a conception started to grow and Cinderella Effect was born…

You are currently preparing for Cinderella Effect live concerts. What can people expect for it?

The visual aspect of my music is very important for me, so I’ll try to give the feelings of our songs in divers’ ways to the audience. Kiss and tell: We don’t want to have pyrotechnics or a dark backdrop on stage… and we’ll have some musicians besides our vocalists.

Do you have tattoos, if yes, what kind of tattoos? Do they represent something special for you?

Yes, I have tattooed shoulders… and sure my tattoos mean a lot for me, but I don´t like to talk about my privacy… In my opinion that has nothing to do with my music…

You are right, it doesn’t have anything to do with music but for most people it represents part of their life. Is this the same for you or is it just decoration?

Of course, it represent my stance on life and it stand for some things in spirituality as well as in sexuality.

How did you pick the songs that you’ve covered on the Cinderella Effect cd?

I´m a DJane too, so I just followed my heart in regard to which songs to cover for the album and I think we had managed to conjure up an intense selection. Some songs I love since I heard them first time. So any of them come along with me through some years.

Will there ever be a Cinderella Effect cd with your own songs?

Of course! We are working on our own songs for the next album.

The pearls cd is so divers, what can we expect from your own material?

We already have any own tracks lying on the shelves… Our forthcoming album will be divers as well. I love to give my fancy full scope, so I don’t like to determinate our style.

Was it easy to be accepted by the fans when you’ve entered Blutengel?

Oh, that´s a long time ago. I had started working with Blutengel in 2001. So it´s not worth to talk about it.

Blutengel is a band everybody has an opinion about. Does that effect you?

No, I don´t think so. I appreciate the situation.

Is this hard for you because nobody wants to be judged just by the band they play in?

Yes, sometimes… First and foremost I’m a human being, with feelings, wishes, fantasies dreams and fears too; in my opinion things I do come second. Sometimes I asked me “Who do they think I am?”, and it’s a pity that people tend to jump to conclusions.

How do you prepare before a concert?

I try to relax and take things as they come… And I love the spirit exists at live shows…

I listen to the music from other bands and sing their songs while I´m driving to the show… On tour I phone with friends, note some impressions for my monthly column in the Zillo Magazin (a german music mag) or make thumbsketchs for my graphic works… So that´s it…

You love to read, what books were of influence on your life? In what way did they influence you?

Oh, there are a lot of books I read in my life... I like writers like Freda Warrington, Oscar Wilde, Brian Froud (The World Of The Dark Crystal),
Günter Grass (Die Blechtrommel), Richard Adams (Die Hunde des schwarzen Todes, Unten am Fluß), Michael Ende (Die unendliche Geschichte), Erich Fromm (Haben oder Sein) amongst others… And of course I’ve my own thoughts about every book I read and some books show us to reflect our own life in a different matter. And it’s a great possibility to learn something about the different cultures and the past.

Some books give us dreams and poetry, others make aware how life could be and tell us stories of the importance of some things we tend to forget. I think reading is the key to our own horizon. Right now I read "Die Frau mit den Regenhänden" (Wolfram Fleischhauer). A story about a infanticide and intrigues around the world exhibition in 1867.

Any last words for our readers?

It's amazing how much you can lift off of daily stress when you know what matters most in life and keep it clear and grounded to you!
