Who is Dee. Kay?? Tell us a bit more about yourself?

Dee.Kay is just my artist-name. They are the both initials of my real name. I guess, it's always quite difficult, to describe one self. The one thing I could say: I'm ambitious. If I have an aim I work hard for it.


How was is to grew up in eastern germany, behind the iron curtain? Did this have an influence on you or not?

No, it didn't influence me, because I was just a little child. I can hardly remember this time.


What  people influenced you?

When I was a kid my elder sister influenced me, she showed me the punkmusic and the party life. We were two crazy punk girls. I think my grandpa influenced me mostly. He was an great musician and I got the talent for music from him (Thank you grandpa)!


When you were a kid, what did you want to become as a grown up?

Oh, I didn't know it for sure. The only thing I knew was to make music.


To what music did you listen as a kid?

I listened to punk rock music. And later I loved to hear grunge, rock and riot girls bands. This is the music Í still like.


What influences you when you write lyrics?

The influences are different. The most of my songs I write about my life, feelings ... but also I write about things they happen in the world, for example oppression of women.


How is to play together with your brother?

It's really cool, because we both love music so much and that's an important thing when you make music together.
