Can you give a brief introduction to Evlent Chapter?

Evlent Chapter is a solo project by Per Pouraskari from Sweden (Would love to add a member/members). It's an experimental harsh-ebm with a fictional Terror-Carnival as theme that represents the darkest sides of humanity.


How would you describe the music of Evlent Chapter, i heard the term Terrorclown EBM?

Kill, regret, laugh and die. <- Confused, indecisive and destructive. Mix all that up and boom! We have Evlent Chapter. I really don't know what I'm talking about.


In what way does Evlent Chapter deviate from other harsh ebm bands, it's these days hard to stand out musicwise?

I think its just the carnival theme that makes my ebm a little different from the other bands. Used to joke about it before, "Electronic Carnival Music". Really boring joke, I know.


Hellektro Holocaust Records just released your debut album "Hate behind the smile" how did you get in contact with the label and what are the comments on the album so far?

Kettil(Syndrome x209) had made contact with them first and told me about them so I thought "What the hell!" and sent them a mail and suddenly i was signed. The comments has been good so far which makes me warm in my heart :)


Does the album have a concept or is it just a collection of songs?

50/50. Some songs belong with each other but there are songs that are really old on it too, for example "Panic" and "Falling".

How do you work on your songs, what hardware and software do you use?

I've got an old piano at home where I use to sit and make simple melodies which I later write down into software programs, for example Propellerhead Reason. Then there is wavelab, audition, audacity and notepad<3!


How did the recording of the album go, did you have some unexpected setbacks?

My computer where I store all the .wavs and files and so on broke and as lazy as I am, I didn't copy them to another HD! So I asked people around what was wrong with my computer and everyone guessed it was the HD that had gone down, I nearly went insane after a while going all "I don't need my music, fresh start, FRESH START!" but luckily enough it was the motherboard. Damn I was scared.


What are the lyrics about? What inspires you in writing lyrics?

Death, religion, love, hate and fear. All the tools for creating insanity!


What are your goals for Evlent Chapter?

To rule the wo-Express my feelings and give something to people. If it were for money and fame, I wouldn’t have chosen to make harsh.


Has Evlent Chapter done liveshows already or is it a purely studio band?

Not yet actually, I was supposed to do a liveshow together with Kettil on his birthday at Club ESP Stockholm, but I got too drunk haha (Shame on me!). Now I'm thinking of making it a purely studio-band but I’m not really sure yet.

You started a project with Kettil of Syndrome x209 as well, what is the current status of that project and what made you decide to start a project together?

Yes, that was a long time ago and we haven't been very active lately. It was just for fun in the beginning but became more of a serious project later but it didn't last so long, but who knows? Maybe we'll start it again!


What will be next for Evlent Chapter?

Right now I’m occupied with a side-project called Killing Wonderland with a friend, so I haven't really thought about it yet ;)
