Can you give a brief introduction to Helalyn Flowers?
Ok, if I was a journalist I'd write: "Helalyn Flowers is a power-duo coming from Rome, Italy, attractively female-fronted. They play what themselves call 'Nu Electro-Rock' that is the definitive summa of the Alternative Heavy sound up to now filtered in two EP's ("Disconnection", 2005 and "E-Race Generation", 2006) that are the true diamonds of the heaviest pop band you ever heard in this world". Too much gaudy? :)
Who came up with the name Helalyn Flowers and what is the idea behind that?
It's me who came up with the monicker. These two words instinctively impressed themselves in my mind without a precise reason. I was really impressed by the way it sounds and i immediately thought it was the only right name for what NOemi and me were going to build up in that days. In a second time, I associated 'Helalyn Flowers' with the annihilation of the opposites aimed to the realization of the Self without conditionings or dogmas... New life. Real Owns life. And yeah, it fully reflects ourselves.
Before Helalyn Flowers you both played in "The Claw" what was the reason to quit with that band and what are the differences between The Claw and Helalyn Flowers?
Let's say that we didn't quit because, as in Helalyn Flowers, NOemi and me were the only true responsibles of the band. We just had more the 'live-band' mark, so we had to share our ideas with other people. And this was the aspect that drove us to create Helalyn Flowers, since none of the persons we played with had and still has our same conception of sound. Most of the people here seems to build up bands that have to sound like-this-or-that-band. And really close-minded too... if you are a metal-head then you HAVE to hate pop/rock music, if you are a goth then you HAVE to puke on punk, and if you are punk then you HAVE to hate heavy metal... And so on... We never gave a fuck of those stupid ghettos and we always prefered to be ourselves listening to everything we feel to appreciate without hiding anything. We never took part of any scene because we get tired of the same shit. Everyone that played with us is a ghettized and in this way he/she never will be able to enter in our world. The only thing he/she can do is to imitate what it's become imitable. So, the greater difference is that Helalyn Flowers has become the imitable band that The Claw couldn't have been if we'd continued to share the deeper of our music with 'deaf' musicians. The Claw was a good band. Helalyn Flowers is the band that I always wanted to discover and dreamt to buy in a record-store.

Our musical spectrum is really rich of the most various and different orgins, so it becomes spontaneous for us to let filter them all in our sound. And then, we are not that kind of band that's born with the intention to sound like others, but just like we do want to sound.
Concerning myself, you can consider me as a total musical psychopath. Or better, I just listen to what I consider really good and that reflects in some way each part of my personality. In these days i'm listening a lot of Punk Rock stuff like The Germs, The Damned, John Lydon (Sex Pistols/PIL/solo career), Osaka Popstar, Uncurbed, Slaughter & The Dogs, Dead Kennedys ect. I listen to this genre since I was 11 and I never stopped to love it. It's nihilistic, situationistic, provoking, aggressive and sarcastic. It's true and uncompromized like me.
In the whiletime i'm also listening to 90's alternative/crossover like Faith No More, Senser, RATM. And then, the latest Europe's release ("Secret Society"), absolutely brilliant, powerful and emotional Hard Rock from the band that, before any other, introduced me to the music when I was just a 7 year old kid and that I always loved in a particular way. Uh, I almost forgot that maybe the thing i'm listening to more in these days is our debut-album since we're actually mixing it. 200 time a track?!?!
How do you manage to use all these different styles and use them in a Helalyn Flowers song?
I don't know, it's an instinctive process. It's alomst unvoluntary. We don't sit in front of the pc saying "Hey, let's write a song in The Prodigy style with Alanis Morrissette-like vocals!". This to explain you that we are not a fucking kitsch n'fake band and that the uniqueness of our sound does lies in this.

We have care of our visual aspect almost in the same way we do for the songs. We try to underline, by the utilization of the imagery, our sound and to fix a thread among the two so that one can immediately recognize Helalyn Flowers. As for the music, we don't like to repeat ourselves so you can expect something different with the new album, with the introduction of new peculiar elements that always marked us.
You do have a new member for live shows, Jeez of Adam, did you know him for a long time? How did you convince him to play for Helalyn Flowers and does he have any influence on the sound?
We don't have to convince anyone! We knew him through Bloody Mary and we started to get in contact with much assiduity. We appreciated Adam's stuff (watch out their forth coming debut-album on Fear Section, it kicks ass!) and he did our own too, so he told us that it would be great to make something together. This was the beginning of our collaboration, or better agreement since he's only a live-member and hasn't any influence at all in our sound. He just has to play live some electronic patterns and pad grounds and to make a great performance as he is able to do. I take this opportunity to remember to all our fans that the heart of Helalyn Flowers is NOemi and Max.
You are currently recording your first album. What can we expect from it (songtitels, label and so on ;) ).
We don't want to anticipate anything. It will be a surprice for all!

We're restocking CdBaby in these days, since the enormous amount of requests from US purchasers. At our store you can find some ltd. edition package including 3 pins. I want to remember to your readers that our latest single "E-Race Generation" has never been printed on CD format (except some promotional copies for magazines, radios and DJ's) and that it's digitally available at sites like i-Tunes, audiolunchbox.com, napster.com etc. Visit our official web-site www.helalynflowers.com for further details.
How important is the internet for a band like Helalyn Flowers?
Internet is the most necessary media mean for everyone involved in "artistic" things, expecially if you're an emerging and/or unsigned act. It's a fundamental part of the promotion. Without internet we couldn't have had the visibility we have. It's the most immediate and fast way to spread your name as tape-trading and fanzines were in the 80's and early 90's. Who denies that?
What can we expect from a Helalyn Flowers live show?"
We are making out best to raise it as an event more than an underground gig like others. This is why we are taking so much time to realize it. Why can I do something just because it "has to be done" getting satisfied 50%? One memorable show is something more impressive than 100 anonymous gigs done with a bad organization and with 50 persons in front of you. We are talking a lot of this with our manager these days to make as much as possible to realize our projects.
