Who is Ines Lehmann?
Me – I am one of the first landing party of an Alien race, ready to take over humanity, currupt and cause chaos.
You switch on stage between singing and playing keyboards. Isn’t that hard to do?
It looks harder then I experience it to be. Me and Kev both enjoy switching the front work as it is also nice for the
audience Its a mixed show instead of one front person for the whole set, it makes the life set more exciting and also
gives us some time for a breather ...
On stage v2a is really hyperactive, how do you prepare for a concert?
We are super naturals ... We all three love playing live gigs and just enjoy performing our music and this is reflecting in
our performance I suspect. I was not realizing that we are hyperactive though ... It is great playing in front of a great
audience who gives you hype whilst you perform ... I purely love it – as long the people do – what more can I ask for?
What is your favourite song to play live and why?
This is a hard question ... as I like a lot of our songs ... At the beginning of V2A we played live our song “Tanzen”, I really
liked this one, but on the top of the list ... of my songs ... it has to be “Retribution”
“Tanzen” I loved as it was very close to old style EBM music and I just purely loved it to perform but for an unkown reason
we removed it off the set and replaced it by others. “Retribution” is a Song I simply could perform day and night, I love the
music and the style of it, get excited always when we have it on the list ...
How did you get involved in making music?
Years and years back as I still lived in Germany I was writing for a very well known music magazine which was a nice
time and I got involved in a lot of different music activities. I was also involved in different band projects, which was fun
but not always the style of music I particulary liked. I moved to London which is a view years ago now, where I met Kevin
and we had straight away this bond between us and loved the exact same music, which then drove us in starting our own
project and V2A was born., in 2001. We never tried to copy any style or jump on any bandwaggons, just “because it is IN”,
we just did simply what we liked and this is what we still do. It has proven to be the right decission.
Where do you get your ideas from for stageoutfit and hairfalls and extensions?
I love to experiement! Since I can think my style is like you see me on stage, mostly blue. I experienced a lot on outfits and
hair styles and after I moved to London I could develop myself even further and there I found a London/Japanese hair salon
–which left no wishes open.
Seems v2a has a special connection with the netherlands, what feelings do you have towards the netherlands and cybergothic
scene overhere in general?
V2A love the Dutch scene and it is always an honor to play live. The Netherlands Scene is mad – as we like it. We have met
such nice people in the times we performed and it is always exciting to come back – and we cannot wait for Dark Summer. It will be great!!!
Do you have other hobbies besides music?
Unfortunately to many I think ... We all have very busy life styles and we have rarely a night relaxing at home. Byside of V2a I
doTaekwon Do, Show-jumping, Mixed Martial Arts, we have got our V2A-Sub-Air paintball team,etc... Which is the reason
he second Album has not been released yet...
What are your personal favourite bands?
It is very hard to just specify them all, you would need pages if I would name these. But the band who have influenced
myself and V2A are bands like: Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Projext Pitchfork, Funker Vogt, Front Line Assembly, Skinny puppy,
Yelwork and also bands like Ultraviolence, Prodidgy.
What is the weirdest thing you have ever experienced?
I think normal people are wired, who are trapped in the “normal” live style. Listening to manufactured shit music on the
radio and MTV and class themselves as cool and individual ....
How does the ultimate Ines evening looks like?
A night out a the UFC Cage fight, me in the first row at the Cage, my Favourite Fighter “Chuck Liddell” fighting “Rampage
Jackson” and a knock out half way in the second round by Chuck ... yes that would be my ultimate evening!!!
Everybody has an addiction, what is yours?
Mixed Martial Arts and UFC cage fighting ...
What are the futureplans for v2a?
We are now finally finishing the second Album, it has taken enough time to develop and it is about time we are releasing it.
We have arround 20 new killer dance floor songs . Our fans are getting unpatient... SORRY!!! We expect that to be Winter
this year. Following that we are doing our V2A – Tour in Europe and also US.
What can people expect from the summer darkness concert?
Chaos, Energy, monster beats and Murder on the dancefloor – the usual V2A way.
