Alain writes the music for Misery and you write the lyrics. Is it hard to write on someone else's melody lines?
Sometimes, but it doesn't always go that way. Alain makes the melody and I write the lyrics, musically we
understand each other very well, he feels what I mean. The other way around I understand how the song is
going to be.
Right now we are busy with a new cd and working with a theme.
What can we expect from the new cd?
The cd has a theme and it will be called Obscurus and Lux. The music is going to be more electronic.
Also, the choruses will stay in your head..it's more melodic and will take your feet of the floor ;)
The mixing will be done by Marko Resurreccion from XP8! He also made a remix of Panorama
and we were véry pleased with it :D

In what way did the leaving of Edwin and the entering of Maarten have an influence on the sound?
There will be less guitar in the new songs and stronger beats! Maarten we actually already knew him, because
he also practised with his band in the same building where we rehearse. We've heard his sound, electro with
heavy beats!!! Maarten totally fits in, it's what we had in mind for the next album. ;)
What are you personally expecting from the new cd?
With the album Nexus we had some publicity, so the name Misery became more known. I hope with
the new album we are going reach more people and that it will go a outside the Netherlands ;)
What influences you in writing lyrics?
My son, the future the past and the present. Also to hear and see people.and I am a dreamer so there is
always something to write about ;)
Is it hard for you to write about personal things or does it work as a kind of therapy?
It is hard, specially for this album, because it are all feelings.how do you write them down on paper?
Some songs took me a long time. I guess you can say it works as a kind of therapy. It feels good to
sing it out loud! The passion and the emotion. Just Love it!!! :D
Everybody has dreams. What were yours when you were young and did you achieved it?
I sang as soon as I could walk.I always wanted to be a singer, so yes you could say I achieved it. :)
My first word was "shout", from the tears for fears song.
You changed your hair alot in the past. Why and how long will you keep this look?
Hahaha when I'm bored with it..I like to change my looks.something new! Something fresh!
To what music did you listen when you were younger and do you still listen to this?
Ough. When I'm at my parents' home, I still hear the songs of my youth!
They're rockers, still very young and still going to concerts!
When you are nervous for a performance, what do you do and does it work?
I drift into my own world and try to relax.
Is it hard to combine music and being a mother? How do you do this?
At this moment I have two different of jobs and being a fulltime mum and the music.yess you can say it's hard ;)
singing is my passion, my second child.I will make time ;) till deep in the night!!
What is the the biggest mistake you have ever made?
Does there have to be one??? Haha!
When you have a bad day, what can turn it into a good one?
Just a smile, a look in my son's eyes will make my day all worth it..and a bunch of electro music!!! And my friends!
You wear fetish clothing on stage, what do you wear offstage?
.......a lot of black and pink! Skirts, tight shirts, tight pants just tight ;)
