Who is Maleficent Martini?
Miss Martini: Maleficent Marini is a broken ballerina doll with a split personality, she is pure and dirty, sweet and evil.
How did you get that nickname?
Miss Martini: Well people used to say I looked like Maleficent from sleeping beauty since I was young so we thought it would have been an appropriate name.
For the band and martini is my real surname and I love it so wanted to keep it!
How did you and the other members of Maleficent meet?
Miss Martini: I've met Mortimer Cain about 8 years ago, we used to go clubbing in the same places and we became really close friends.
And Dr. Sickx approached us at the end of 2006 as he was interested in working in our band, and we got along straight away. He became a part of the Maleficent family.
How did you come up with the name for the band?
Miss Martini: Maleficent has been my nickname for many years.
Who are you musical influences and how have they influenced the artist you are today?
Miss Martini: Sylvie Guillem and Massimo Moricone gave me inspiration on learning new styles of dancing and listening to Metallica, Nirvana, The Cure,David Bowie,Annie Lennox,System of a Down,Muse etc gave me inspiration to dance to alternative music that , in the end inspired me to form a band and create my own music to dance to.

MORTIMER CAIN: Dr Sickx writes the music and myself and maleficent martini write the melodies for our vocals and lyrics.
As a singer you use different kinds of voices, how do you know what to use?
Miss Martini: My split personality tells me what to do.

Dr. Sickx: I’d love to work with Angelspit or Ministry or the Prodigy.
Miss Martini: I would love to work with Muse,Aerosmith,Marilyn Manson,Metallica,Placebo and The Prodigy too.
What is in store for Maleficent in the future?
MORTIMER CAIN: more gigs in the UK and Europe and a few more tours.
Dr Sickx: We are working on a new album and on a soft core porn movie.
What is the most valuable thing you have learned in the music business?
Miss Martini: Do everything yourself coz there is no1 out there that would help you and always stick to your own ideas no matter what.
Dr. Sickx: That talent is not enough, you need sheer determination and sell your soul to satan. Also, I learnt that the music business does not have anything to do with art.
Any last words for our readers?
Miss Martini: Thank you for supporting Maleficent! And thank you to the people that came all the way from Germany and Netherlands
just to see some of our shows in London! I am really thankfull.
Dr. Sickx: the music scene is stale, not daring and totally safe. That’s why you have some many old bands, doing reunions and the labels are still pushing the same bands they were pushing 20 years ago. Well, fuck that, pick up your guitars, synths and drums and try to express yourself, try to support new bands or anyone who’s trying to do something original. Let’s bring something dangerous, unsafe and totally not Politically correct, and stick it to the man.
