Thank you for speaking to us. How are you both doing?
Great, thank you
Could you explain abit about Moev for our readers who may not be familiar with you guy?
We've been around in one form or another since 1981. We're probably best known for "Crucify Me". We were the band for which Nettwerk Records was founded.
A lot of people like your music, do you find it hard to keep it original sometimes?
If you are being natural about the writing process, you can't help the way you sound. Writing is very selfish, very self involved. you are just pouring your insides out. If you go into it trying to be too cool it always comes off as a bad lie. thats why there is so much bullshit music out there.
Are you ever worried it's going to sound like someone else?
Thats never been an issue for us.

You recently released an album after 10 years, why such a long gap in between?
We were busy with other projects, writing and producing and building a studio.
What inspires you musically?
The drama of everyday life!
What drives you to write the music you create?
Its just a natural process. You can't help how you sound. we just write what sounds good to us. if other people like it then thats good too.
Do you find yourselves more at home in the studio or do you love the hustle and bustle of touring as well? What would you say are the pro's and con's of either?
We've always been more of a studio band. The cats appreciate someone being home to feed them. I enjoy playing the actual gigs its just the drama and the poverty I could do without.

We have no control over death or peoples mood swings, drug addiction etc..
Do you feel the scene has changed much over the years since you've been active?
The biggest and most positive change is the demise of the record industry. A&R departments have been wiped off the map by their own inadequacies and greed.
Most bands would say the record industry dying was a negative thing, It's nice to here someone being honest especially about A&R. Do you not think the record industry plays a role anymore or do you feel the "digital age" is taking it to a new level?
Its taking it to a totally different level. Its up to companies to adapt. For us releasing this record now, its so much more cost effective. We won't end up $100,000 in debt only to be dropped by our label because the guy that signed us got fired. We're happy to be off that merry-go-round.
Does your music influence your personal life and vice versa?
The music is a reflection of our personal lives and a way to vent and express everything really
Who is your inspiration? What made you all wake up and go 'I want to be a musician' for a living?
I saw Gary Numan in 1979 and that re-inforced my commitment to the synth. Many people made money off my music, I unfortunately was not one of them.

Gary Numan, John Foxx and the guitar player from Neu
What's in store for Moev in 2010?
Writing and recording a new record. this one won't take 10 years, we promise!
Any last words for our readers?
Thanks for listening and reading!
