Who is N0emi?
She’s just an uneasy mind that decided, with another crazy guy,
to start Helalyn Flowers and make of her band her future.
What does the name N0emi means?
It is just my real name. It is quite rare here in Italy, and it means “happiness, bright”.
I’ve decided to use my real name because I don’t feel myself using a nickname and
I think it isn’t so ugly eheheh ;) I use to replace the “o” with a zero because I’m really
enchanted by this number and it reflect myself fully. It means the totally absence,
the nothing, the emptiness but also the infinity. It influences in a very important
way the elements it contains.
As a kid what do you wanted to become when you were older?
I lived my childhood without worrying of my future, but living my present just with
my fantasies. I’ve always been very active, since I was a child. I danced, designed,
sang and it was almost implied to me that I’ll never stopped to live of them!
You are responsible for the complete visual aspect of Helalyn Flowers.
What is your background because it all looks great and what inspires you?
Thank you for appreciating my work! As told before, I’m into visual art since as a child,
I started to use the computer contemporary to painting when I was 13 about, and I
graduate of the art and new technologies academy as scene designer and costume &
make-up artists. Then I exhibited at the contemporary art museum in Italy and I worked for
some companies as grapher and illustrator consulting, but it took too much time.
The visual-sound alliance is all that I live for. What inspires me? I think daily life and
of course watching movies. It is what inspires my vocals and my lyrics too.
What are your goals in life (personally and musically)?
Make of Helalyn Flowers an indispensable band, through the most popular,
that turned the same old boring music upside down! Too much pretentious? ;)
Why did you enter the music scene (long days and bad payments)?
I think that’s my destiny. If I’ve to think of my interests and abilities, everything
is related to artistic field so…long days and bad payments, yes…but self-fulfilment
and a pleasure too!
What are your hobbies besides music?
I don’t want to define my passions a hobby, because I consider this word as
negative for describing something that you really love to do. So, I define as passions
painting, digital illustration, to travel, photography, make-up and dresses styling, fetish,
gothic and glamour photography, read about crop circles and x-files, dancing, and lots
of things that I can’t tell you here…
To what music did you listen when you were younger and do you still listen to that?
I started to listen to thrash, death metal and hard rock as a child because of my older
brother who played the guitars in a band. But I’ve always listened to rock, electronics
and pop too. I just like the good music, it doesn’t matter the genre.
How do you prepare for a live concert, what do you do against the nerves?
First of all I start my vocals training, and I drink Baileys and pineapple juice.
Against the nerves, I jump and I enjoy myself annoying Max! ahahah!
When you take a look at the first work you made as a designer, do you still like it or would you have done things differently?
Of course I would have done things differently! (Also if there’s lots of worse around the world ;)
Everyone needs experience to learn and reach an own style. I think that being severs with
us helps a lot for improving.
How does your life looks over 10 years?
I don’t know … I want to live my present and do the tings in the better way for my future.
I just wish that my dreams become true!
