Who is Nadia Sohaei?
I'm not interested at all to build a character or a personality about that. It's just the being I call "me" making music. It's a heart grown up between the pain and the ecstasy of being in this existence. It's a little song left behind that become one with everything that realize how connected things are, and need to express that happiness in all the possible ways...and one of the deeper way is the music, sounds, because finally, we are that, waves, energy, life, existence...I celebrate what we are made for : vibrate.
What do you prefer, to know yourself or feel yourself, and why?
I can not know myself, because I'm totally unpredictable , I can feel myself but from a deep distance, not involved on that, , just "being" , not " to be", "to feel", "to know" or "will be"... So I just enjoy watching my own show without getting involved on that.
Your mother was a piano player, what role did music play in your childhood?
I survived through the music. The other stuff in my childhood was superficial, irrelevant. My heart was thirsty of real things. And the more real thing that happened to me was what she awake on me while she was playing, listening to her playing was a spiritual event in that moment, and my soul was very ready to get it...I use to play by memory all the classical pieces she played. When I was 6 y.o. , I use to do that. She use to tell me, where did you learn that...I used to say...I just know it.
Did this affect your choice of becoming an artist yourself?
She didn't know anything at all that what was happening to me. In that moment to be an artist was not a choice. The concepts, the identifications were irrelevant. Was something that was bound to happen any little moment. I feel better to think that the music open the way through you to blossom, to be expressed, to survive. There's no art deeper than the music. Is like a fire that touch you, and you dies completely burned in seconds. So after that, nothing of you remains...

It was a parallel action. I always felt a musician of my time. Not from the past. The classical musicians they live in the past all the time. They have a hard time to accept other kinds of music. Synthetizers are instruments. And they are the most beautiful instruments, because you never finish knowing them. The amounth of sounds they made are infinit and the posibilities are infinit too. What the classical musicians don't know is that a classical orchestra is an acoustic synthetizer with some pressets. You can organize them in all the ways you want. That's what the musicians in thepast did. If Mozart knew about Synthetizer, for sure he would use them! In deed he create instruments for new effects in the orchestra. The most important is the attitude for the msic, the opening. Then you can asimilate new tendences that enrich your soul. I'm still pianist, still composer, classical/contemporary vocal and synthetizer player.
You picked the name “Thai Essence” in the beginning, why that name and what can you tell about the music you made under that moniker ?
Thailand has an energy really subtle, more pure than any other places I've experience. Is like a Tibetan bell sounding in the distance, has a high frequency. The human heart gets involved really fast back to it's nature, the love, the freedom of the spirit. Then one happiness rise in your heart, and it gets cured from all the wounds that in Occident we get day by day. Your inner being becomes lighter and happier and wants to explode. That's very related to the music I make in Thai-Essence Project.
How important is spirituality for you, what does spirituality mean for you?
Spirituality is the most misunderstood world ever. It's far away from the Religions. It's more related to the Beauty, Love, happiness, to catch the essence of the things, the nature of everything, that we all are involved on that mystery... Is something out of our mind. It's a Connection with the deepest thing. Everything is a Miracle, and everything is so beautiful... I can not be happy without being aware. Then the balance can be lost, and is easy to fall. Then you let the others to get control on you. Then Religions are created, politics are created...All humanity is falling and falling all once, and more and more. Spirituality is the tightrope where everything is sustained. The only thing I can tell you is that everyone has to learn to walk in that tightrope. For some reason, you have to awake by yourself. We are born blind, but with all the potential to see deeply in life.

You can use the classical base in the electronic music. Your perception about the music is far much deeper that if you have not got that base. To compose classical or contemporary music with the classic studies, is to discover all the laws that rules the sounds, how the much, how they can move, how to express feelings ... and the base is acoustic. The Electronic music is a jump, a big jump to the experiment whatsoever you want. You can go crazy and just build songs without music knowledge and still transmitting many things that are not able to happen with the classical. Both are complements, both should be learn.
These days your partner in music is Niklas Wejedal, how did the two of you meet and what does he add to the music?
He always has been waiting there for me. He added balance and harmony to a crazy girl like me... he's a great inspiration in all ways.
Last year you released “talking to myself” on the Italian Decadance Records, how did you get in contact with them?
They contact me through Myspace.
Can you explain the title?
It's just my life. Not much people to talk. Everybody has not time or interest to talk anymore. I'm sure is the reality of many others.
How did the writing sessions and recording sessions for the album go? Did you have finished songs before you started recording or did you have to finish some during the recording process?
This is a mystery for me...I really can not remember....! The Creation is like that!
