Nurzery [Rhymes]

Why did you choose for Nurzery [Rhymes] as a band name?

"nurzery rhymes", abgeleitet vom englischen Begriff für Kinderverse, spielt auf den bedrohlichen Zwiespalt des kindlich Unschuldigen und dem prägenden Charakter solcher Gedichte an. Kinderverse sollen, verdeckt durch scheinbare Harmlosigkeit und Naivität Wertvorstellungen vermitteln und dies in frühster Jugend. Viele Verse und Geschichten, gerade Märchen sind dabei voll von Gewalt und Drohung, wodurch sie in Verbindung mit der Erinnerung an die Unmündigkeit im Kindesalter auch Ängste, Hoffnungen und Gefühle von Vergänglichkeit beim Zuhörer aufkommen lassen. Dies bewirkt die besondere Emotionalität von Kinderversen. Für die Wirkung genau jener Bedrohlichkeit, die auch scheinbar Harmlosem anhaftet steht die Musik von nurzery rhymes.

You just released the “injections” album, how are the responses to it?
 
The responses so far couldn´t make us happier. Almost every Reviewer and our Listeners and Fans gave us great Feedback and a 
lot of Energy to go on and grow with our Fanbase.

On the album there are little “in between” songs called Injections. Why did you this?

These Interludes open the several chapters of the album and try to show what feeling or emotion will be injected next.

 

The pictures of the live shows look nice and bloody. What can people expect from a Nurzery [rhymes] show?

A lot of dancing wet bodies, sounds that go straight to the brain and for sure a hell 
of a good time!

What is the most pleasant or strange memory you have on a live show?

I think every of our shows is very special and unique and it always means a lot to us to play live and have direct contact to the people. So, due to that we have a lot of pleasant memories on the most of our shows. Sometimes I feel like kicking the sound engineer´s butt but that´s really not often and is the only negative thing I remember so far.

You started with Nurzery [Rhymes] in 2000, in what way is the music evolved throughout the years?

At the beginning when i did everything myself i was totally fascinated by harsh industrial 
and rhythm ´n noise tunes like xotox, noisex and so on.
Then during the years i met my friends Fr4nco and Mari0 and step by step more and 
more other influences made their way to our sound.

What inspired you to start a band of your own, were you missing something while you were dj’ing?

No not really, it was more like “let´s see if I can do that too”. So the main reason is pretty unspectacular :-)

  
Some people we’ve talked too compare Nurzery [Rhymes] to Agonoize, what’s your opinion to that?

I have nothing but the biggest respect for Agonoize! I love their music and i´m proud to have fellows like these guys! There are sure some similarities between n[r] and Agonoize at least because it´s both dark electro. But I really don´t think that we´re a clone of Agonoize or someone else.

What are the future plans for Nurzery [Rhymes]?

Play live as much as we can and get the next album done
