Hi Jose, thanx for doing this interview, how are you doing?
Hello friends of Cyber Angels, well, I feel good and happy , thank you very much for asking
You are the man behind “Say Just Words” can you give a brief introduction to the band?
Well, Say Just Words is a project of Harsh / EBM mixed with dark sounds, born in Santiago of Chile; South America, in order to express the cruelty and human imperfections and show that here in South America there are quality bands, in a musical world so far not very known in these countries
What was it that made you started a career as a musician, what triggered you do this?
Well, to be very honest , all began as a hobby, a few years ago, creating songs for entertain some friends. I liked the idea that my friends liked, so I started to make more professional music.
Did you have any other projects or collaborations prior to “Say just Words”?
I've been in a couple of projects prior to SJW, the most fun of my previous bands were not electro, or had anything to do with electronic music, one of the bands I'm most part framework was The Sad Darkness Of Thy Love (Tragic Funeral Doom/Gothic Metal) this already in 2004 but it's dead on this years by diverses influence of the guys. Now they released one Ep epitaph called "Last Dance for a Slow Decay..."

Can you explain the band name, it is not a typical name for a harsh ebm project?
You're absolutely right, if you tell me that a band is called Say Just Words, I would say, what do they play these guys? The truth is not a common name, is quite rare, but it is a name that encompasses a lot, gives me an infinite freedom, because I can talk about anything I want in my lyrics.
You started back in 2004 as a solo project, How do you look back at the early days? Was it about getting experience, experiment in sound and styles?
Well, I always wanted to do more own, because my passion for electronic sounds always was present, do not hesitate to devote myself to my keyboard and electro music,if it costed me to do something more harsh, at that time were not known bands of EBM or Industrial here in chile, so did not have many influences, was a long process of growth and search for a sound, until finally I gave in point.
In 2006 you added Emma as vocalist to the band but he left in 2008, together you recorded 2 demo’s. Can you explain what he did add to the band and why didn’t this collaboration last?
He was never a great contribution, he never showed interest in SJW why I decide to continue alone in 2008.
It left you without singer and you took over the vocals yourself. Did you always had the ambition to be a singer or did it just happen because you were without a singer?
Hahaha! After the departure of Emma, I decided to take the issue of the voice in SJW I liked the idea of singing and composing.

David U. joined you as live synth player, where did you meet and what made you decide to get him aboard?
Well, like any artist, one always wants to give a good show for the fans, and I alone onstage, singing and playing the synth, it’s impossible to give a good show, so David Urriola enters the Live Help , he showed great interest and enthusiasm in this project.
What new ideas has he added to the concept and music of Say Just Words?
Upon entry to SJW David gave a touch of professionalism to the band but the concept did not change much because things were clear before, but the music was a breakthrough, in a couple of months, improved sounds were pretty thanks to your help ,apart than he has many contacts with producers and other bands in the world, so it was a good idea to include David in this project, under the arm brings good ideas, and good contacts.
You have done many remixes, what is it that appeals to you to do these remixes?
I really love the remix, I like the thought of doing my version of a song , other than that it is also a way to make ourselves known outside our country.
You now released your debut album called ”The Shadow of Chaos” what can you tell us about the album?
Well this album is a compilation of many songs created between 2008 and 2009, is a very dark album, full of rage and anger in his lyrics, with powerful melodies and darkpassage. I personally leads me some very different mood changes from one song to another, for me a very good record and us we made known to a large part of the world, we received very good comments from Europe and North America, I'm happy with this album.
When listening to the album the band that came to my mind is Hocico, are they are source of inspiration?
Hocico, I think that inspired the great majority of Latin bands because their sound is exellent and is one of the biggest rock acts on the world stage, but it's not a great source of inspiration in my music.

How did the recording process go, did it all work out as you hand in mind when you started working on the album?
As tell you above the album is a of compilation of songs created between 2008 - 2009, listening my old work, I decided to create the album.
What I really liked on the album are the way you use strings, is that typical for the sound of Say Just Words? Do you use them to create a darker atmosphere?
I've always liked orchestral sounds, violins and the like, and not many bands there include the strings it in your music, so it was a good way to give a special touch to SJW for differentiated from the other bands, and are excellent for creating that dark and melancholy in every song.
You never lose melody out of sight, is it hard to add melody to such a harsh album? How do you do this?
The beauty of music is that there are no rules for composing, has its degree of complication , in some cases, I spent hours trying to put together a string to a battery quickly and dance is not an easy thing, test and test the target , can not tell you exactly how to do it,just happens.
A musician is never completely satisfied, it is part of making progress I think, what will you do differently on the next album?
Exactly, one always want to improve in music and the message delivery to your music, the songs are more darker, very aggressive, and with theme difente in the lirycs, i can not stand finish the second album and wait for other people it listen.
Most south American acts have lyrics that are socially critically, what is the content of your lyrics?
The songs of SJW often speak of the problems we have many, not financially or anything like that, but the problems behind every act committed, behind every thought insane that we have, the lyrics reflect a dark side, fears, errors, envy, hatred, often unjustified, etc ... I like to reflect and reflect the attitudes we daily occur in the lives.
On the album are several good remixes by pretty famous bands, how did you get them to do a remix?
Uuuffff, these remixes are a pride for me, All were contacted through myspace.com, pedro of acylum immediately accepted the remix like the lean and the other bands, are very good people, my thanks for them!

Some people say there is a south American style of harsh ebm, do you agree with this. What is the reason, in your eyes, that these days so many good acts surface?
In fact, there is a style very marked in South America, clearly we are more some aggressive about music and lyrics, strong growth that has occurred in the South American industrial scene, means that the more people listen this music, there are more good ideas to create bands, I think we just need to mature a little more , There are some excellent suggestions here, some of these bands are Die Braut, Arian 1, Zublagrimal, Reaxion Guerrilla, C-lekktor and a number of bands exelent born in South American.
The album is available as a free download, why did you decide to do it this way?
This album was a way of thanking people who have always supported us, so it we left for free download, to show our affection to each one of those people following us and cares about us.
Where can people download it?
Well, the debut album can be downloaded at the following website: http://tacuara.net in Section free download.
Did some labels showed interest already?
Unfortunately not.
What will be next for Say Just Words?
It next will be an EP entitled "The Perfect Killer'' which features new songs and excellent remixes, including participating bands as: C-lekktor, Die Braut, Arian 1 & Reaxion guerrilla and we are working on the second album.
