Can you introduce Stereomotion to our readers?

Stereomotion is my electro solo project. It exists since 2003. My debut album "Resistance:2012" was released in 2006. My latest album is "Apocalypse:Forever". It was released in January this year.

What did you have in mind when you started Stereomotion and do you feel you are on the right track?

Stereomotion was my only way out at that time. I felt the need to express myself and my visions. Otherwise I surely would have gone insane. Maybe I am insane after all, but I am on the right track.

It seems Stereomotion is a band with a concept, are we right, what can you tell about it?

That is definitely true. With my music I am trying to tell a story. A story of love, hate, good and bad. It is about the apocalypse, the end of everything, but it is also a story about a new beginning, a new hope. Stereomotion stands as a symbol for all the dualities that chain us humans down. I guess my music is my personal struggle against all boundaries that we have to face on our way through life.

What dualties do chain us down according you?

It is our human existence itself. Love and hate are controlling our fate. Life and death are execrating our way. We are on a our own odyssey.

Is there a limit of albums you will spend on this concept or can you go on forever?

I could go on forever. But I have to confine myself to reach the end.

Have you played in other bands before Stereomotion?

No, I haven´t.

Stereomotion

So how were the first steps, how did you start, did you take music lessons or something?

Yes, I took music lessons as a child. I first learned to play classical instruments. Later I discovered electronic music and its unlimited possibilities.

In 2006 you released "Resistance:2012". What can you tell about the album and how were the responses?

"Resistance:2012" was like a vision. It is the beginning of the journey. With my debut album I outlined the problems of human emotions, dualities and the dangers that await us in the future. With "Apocalypse:Forever" I let these visions become reality and lead the listener directly in the abyss of human existence. The national and international responses were very positive.

What can you tell us about your view of the human future?

War, misery, poverty, hate, cataclysms...I fear that humanity must come to an end. But this could also be a new beginning for us. It is within our own discretion.

2012 is the year in which the world as we know comes to an end according the ancient Maya culture, has the title something to do with that?

Of course it does. Stereomotion has a lot to do with mysticism and esoterism. As you know, the answers of future questions lay in the past of humanity.

But also wise lessons can be learned from the past, what lesson do you wish we have learned from the past?

We must realize: ... without darkness nothing comes to birth, as without light nothing flowers. Humility, strength, wisdom, faith...these are the lessons we have to learn.

You just released "Apocalypse:Forever", what are the differences compared to "Resistance:2012"?

"Apocalypse:Forever" is more direct, has more emotion and is more melodic. It´s a natural evolution in the master plan of Stereomotion.

When I listen to the album it really has an emotional and dark feeling over it, how do you create that and are you an emotional and dark person as well?

My soul has a lot of dark aspects. I have learned to channel these emotions into my music. Maybe the atmosphere is created by my inner struggle. There are scars left from going through hell

Music is one of the things that got you out of your personal hell, where there other things that helped you?

My friends and my family.

On "Apocalypse:Forever" we also hear the voice of Fabienne Grow, how did you meet her, was it hard to convince her to work with you?

No, Fabienne is a good friend of mine. I have planned for a long time to enrich the sound of Stereomotion with female guest-vocals.

In my opinion I agree with that, she really adds something to the sound of Stereomotion, can we expect to hear more from her and Stereomotion in the future?

Perhaps. There will be a few guest appearances on the next album.

Stereomotion

Why is Stereomotion a single person band, is it easier to work this way in the studio or do you miss someone tagging along in the process of songwriting?

I am a control freak. There is no alternative for me than doing everything myself. Steremotion is also something very personal.

Live you have C. Schulz, why an extra member for liveshows?

I don´t like the idea of a "one man show". I need friends respectively musicians like C. Schulz at my side.

You did some concerts for the promotion of the new album, how did the audience respond to the album?

I just did a concert in Portugal three weeks ago. They loved it. It was nice to see how enthusiastic they responded to my music.

What is on the agenda in the next period for Stereomotion?

First I am going to do some remixes. After that the production of the third Steromotion album is going to start. For this one I am going to take my time. The next album is going to be a great step for Stereomotion.
