Can you tell us a bit more about the band and it's members?

At the beginning I would like to thank you for finding some time to create those questions.I find them very attractive and will answer them with a big pleasure. So...

Suicidal Romance was formed in 2004 and during those two years our style has changed a lot. At the beginning there was just me but there's no need to retell the whole story (that's why our biography is for). Well.. when something started to come out I found ourselves a great singer - Viktoria whose vocal technics were just the thing we needed. Maarja was responsible for the visual concept and also joined us as a live member.

I am doing music from a spare time because of a full-day job and univeristy, Viktoria is also a workoholic and singing in two estonian metal bands (Inferno, Whispering Forest) and Maarja is studying at an university too.


How would you describe your music?

I would describe it like a mixture of different electro styles. In our music you can find elements of trance, dark pop, gothic... I prefer to call our style "gothic dance"... or just electro music :)


You also play guitars for Cyclone B? Do you still do this?

I also wrote and produced a few tracks for cB. For example "CyberNation" from new EP "DEMOlished". Guitars are in the past... but I hope that some day we will try out something again.


I heard some people compare suicidal romance to Blutengel, mostly

To be honest... Blutengel were the first ever band that influenced me. But... I never tried to copy them. Maybe they played some part in my music orientation, but only that. I love catchy melodies and simple romantic lyrics. I am very sensitive and try to describe my feelings through my music. Promo pictures were made in a hurry and I never thought that there we could look like Blutengel members. A lot of bands wear suits and have a lot of girls in band :) It is not a criterion.


What are the influences (musical) for Suicidal Romance.

Musical... hmm... I listen to very different music. For example I like very much the new project from E-rotic producer - SHANADOO :) and always was in chinese music and movies. Like I said before... in SR I try to combine a lot of different styles... from cathcy club tracks like "Angel of Love" to ballades like "Lonely Tears" to which You can dance heart-to-heart with your beloved :)


You did some remixes for acts like Say Y and Frozen Plasma. How did you get in contact with them and can we expect some new remixes in the near future?

With Picco from Say Y we are old ICQ friends :) so when I heard about upcoming album I asked him to do remix for bonus material... he agreed. And the remix for Frozen Plasma was done via Torben from Infacted Recordings. But the remix publishing went a little bit not like we had planned and wasn't released by FP on their new EP because of the lack of time... hope they will release it somewhere else... :) Soon I will start some remixing for Infernosounds (ger), Forgotten Sunrise (est) and have two more interesting offers from Lost Area (ger) and 2 Bullet (jap).


Recently you did a concert, guess this was the first. How did it go and what can people expect from a Suicidal Romance concert.

You are right. It was the first LIVE for SR. But I am proud to say that everything went just fine. Even SPETSNAZ members were very pleased with Viktoria's vocals! I think that in the future people can expect some more interesting performances and of course lots and lots of danceable music from SR :)


You just got signed to Infacted recordings and your album will be released

Right now for this album we planned 10 full-length tracks + some bonus material ...for now it is all the information we can give. More to follow soon.


The minicd that you were planning to release will not be released anymore, am I correct?? What will happen with these songs?

You are a little bit incorrect. We self-released 20 exemplars of this MCD. To be true it is more like DEMO CD than MCD. So... thnx to internet we got a lot of positive reaction and decided to re-release it like MCD (in a bigger amount) to sell more of those. But after getting in touch with Torben we decided to finish working on all the tracks we have and strike with a full album. 5 tracks from this demo CD will be also on our debute album, but in re-edited version. :)


What do you expect from this release?

We expect to get some positive reaction... but... who knows :)


Any more plans for the future?

Right now our plans are to write and produce more music. And of course we are looking foward for more LIVE shows... That's all for now...
