Can you give a brief introduction to Technolorgy?
Technolorgy were formed in 2007 in Thessaloniki, Greece by DAV1D (Vocals) and LAU (Music) under the name Treibsand. In 2008 STAV joins the band as keyboardist and the name changes to Technolorgy. Technolorgy's sound can be described as a mixture of modern EBM, Techno and Industrial.
Who are the members of Technolorgy and what can you tell about them? How did you meet each other?
Technolorgy are: DAV1D (Vocals & Lyrics), LAU (Programming & Guitar) and STAV (Programming & Keyboards). With LAU we’re friends since high school and we started this project together. With STAV we were also friends before he joined the band. We’re three different people with the same love for music.
The band used to play under the name ”Treibsand”, what made you decide to change the name and is it only a name change or can we see it is a new beginning?
We changed it in 2008, when we found out that there are other bands using the same name. Since our sound had changed too, we needed a new name anyway, so we found a unique one which would also fit the concept we had in mind and since then we’re Technolorgy.
You have released a promo album called Screen: Play a few months ago, how is it received and what are the comments so far on it?
It ‘s not an album, it’s a 3 track EP. It’s been received very well in and out of Greece, and we get a lot of positive comments, especially from DJ’s and fans.

Did the promo cd fulfill the expectations you had before its release, what did it bring you?
Yes it definitely did. We can hear our songs in the clubs now and see people enjoying ‘em. Day after day we’re getting known in the scene.
What are your sources of inspiration, I hear a little “And One” influence in the music, melodic and danceable ebm?
We’re listening to many different kinds of music. Not only electronic. We like And One, but they’re not our main influence. We love catchy melodies and songs that make you move, but we’re not writing music for clubs in the first place. Everything can influence us to write our music and our lyrics.
What can you tell about the lyrics? What are they about?
My lyrics are about everything that bothers me or I experience in my life or see around. There is a strong concept behind Screen:Play, even though it’s only a 3 track ep. It’s about the alienation of the modern life, the wrong use of technology, the propaganda of religion and media and the insanity we’re drowning in everyday.

The promo is produced by Dimitri N Douvras of Lunatech studios and Iambia. How did you get in contact with him and how was it to work with him, what advice did he gave you that was very valuable?
Z from Siva Six introduced us to Dimitri and everything just worked out. He’s the best producer in Greece at the moment and a cool guy too, so it was a pleasure working with him. The most valuable advice he gave us? There were so many… I guess, not to forget that it’s all about the music.
These days many great bands are coming from Greece, like Iambia, Preemptive Strike 01, Siva Six, Cygnosic, Virgins o.r. Pigeons. Can you explain the sudden flow of good Greek electro bands, do you have some thoughts about this?
I guess our time has come and finally we’re having our electro scene! There were always talented people here in Greece, but now we also learned how to be professionals. Foreign labels started to dig Greek bands and that’s why you can hear or even see live some of them abroad.
The biggest problem for Greek bands seems to get concerts outside Greece, how do you think you can solve this and play everywhere in Europe (or world)?
I guess it’s not a big problem anymore, since most of Greek bands have experienced playing outside Greece. But to get more concerts in Europe or world, we have to make a strong fan base outside Greece in the first place.
You just had your debut concert, how did it go? Did it go better or worse than expected, how did people react on Technolorgy?
It went very well and we had very positive reaction from people. It was just like we expected it to be. Now we can’t wait to get on stage again!

David, you are a dj, does your music benefit from this, after all you know what people like to hear and dance too?
Me as a DJ is totally different from me as the frontman of Technolorgy. With Technolorgy we never think of writing songs to be more club-oriented of “mainstream”, we just do what we feel. When I perform as a DJ, then I try to give people what they want and make them have a good time in the first place.
Technolorgy will appear on the new compilation of Shinto Records, how did you get in contact with them and do you see this as a great opportunity to spread the name Technolorgy around the world?
I guess Cyber Angels’ help to get in contact with Shinto Records was valuable! To appear on a compilation is a great opportunity to spread your name around the world of course and since we’re a new band, that’s what we have to do now.
What will be next for Technolorgy?
I hope a deal with a label.. haha.. who knows?! We’re writing new songs at the moment and looking forward to get on stage again, so wheels keep turning!
Last words for our readers?
Thank you all for supporting Technolorgy from day one. Enjoy good music and stay awake ;)
