Hello, Thank you for participating in our interview, how are you doing? Can you give us an insight of what Xperiment stands for?

Ashes: Hi! In this moment we are making new music for the next album and preparing live shows. This is a good year because we have defined 100% the final sound for the band! Yeah!

At what point did you decide to make an Harsh Electro/Industrial project & How did you all meet?

Ashes: Good question... I was looking for a band member to make a band, as E[x]ecutor. We met us on a music forum and as soon as we talk about start a project, Xperiment was born because we like the same kind of music.

E[x]ecutor: It’s hard to tell, I played in other musical projects before try Harsh and Industrial, lucky I met Ashes who has a similar and complementary point of view than mine.

Todays electro scene is pretty crowded, what makes Xperiment stand out?

Ashes: We work really hard all over the past year to define the sound of the band, if the name is Xperiment, the band must be an experiment 100% but with our own Harsh Electro style... This is really difficult, as you say, the scene is pretty crowded. The trick is open your ears to another kinds of music. For example, our track ‘Infection’ could be part of a Cyber-Industrial CD, ‘This Is War’ contains an EBM ambient mixed with Harsh Electro style, ‘Gritos De Violencia’, sang in spanish, mix Harsh with Hardstyle, and for example ‘Euthanasia’, one of my favourite tracks of the new album, mixes Harsh Electro with darbouka’s tribal sounds. This is Xperiment.

E[x]ecutor: We stand out because we’re not an another band clon, we’ve got our own personality without leaving the Harsh and Industrial sound. We have created a very personal style.

Xperiment

These days there are alot of bands surfacing from Spain, can you explain this?

Ashes: The technology advances, I think it’s normal, but I think that in Spain we can count all the Harsh Electro bands in active with the fingers of only one hand.

E[x]ecutor: As Ashes says, technological development has democratized the possibilities to make music, specially if is electronic music. Today everybody can try it with a computer and some software but I think this is not happening only in Spain, it happens around the world it’s just that in Spain we’ve got less sonorous references of this scene in our past.

What are personally sources of inspiration for you?

Ashes: A lot of music. In the Cyber sound: T3rr0r 3rr0r. In the tribal sound: Solace or Niyaz. In the Harsh Electro sound: Suicide Commando, Alien Vampires, Tactical Sekt, C-Lekktor... Exactly I don’t know, like I said, the trick is open your ears to all the good music to understand properly the sound of Xperiment.

E[x]ecutor: All I live and see around me, everything, even the most insignificant can inspire me. Also, literature or cinema can be my inspiration source, and of course, the music I use to listen like Suicide Commando, Diary Of Dreams, Oomph, Nitzer Ebb…

You recently got signed to Mutant-e Records, How did you get in contact with them?

Ashes: Mutant-E Records signed us on 2009, I contacted with Zufo (Mutant-E Manager) and he likes our music, he saw future on our sound and he decided to release our first EP like a collection of our old tracks. Since the first time that we talk, I know that Zufo and us would be really good friends!

E[x]ecutor: I knew the record label through my good friend Javi, Blood’out guitarist, and I asked Ashes to contact them because it’s a record label that bets for the good underground music.

In 2009 you released the “First Vision EP” on Mutant E records. Did you write totally new songs for this album or was it meant as a teaser (just demosongs) for an upcoming album? How were the comments on it?

Ashes: First Vision EP is only a CD for collectors, it’s a CD to have our old songs. All people will discover our new sound in the next album, but we have 4 tracks with really good quality of our new album availables at our vampirefreaks profile.

E[x]ecutor: First Vision EP is an amount of old songs that we wanted to use to start round the Xperiment’s wheel of sound, but they are far from the definitive band’s sound.

Shortly after that the album “First Headshot” was released on the Hungarian Hellectro Records. What can you tell us about this release?

Ashes: For us were great in this moment that another label decide to release a special edition of this first EP, we make 2 extra songs for this release, 1 bonustrack and new remixes. All the work for nothing because the true is that this label works really bad: any information, any promotion, any live show, any benefit, any nothing! Bah! I can’t answer good to this question because the Hellectro manager never wrote more (And I know bands of this label in this same situation)

E[x]ecutor: Well, at the beginning it surprised and deceive me but as well has told Ashes, it was a deception, but I must recognize that even with this experience we have learnt something.

Xperiment

How do you look back on these two albums yourself, are there things you will do different for the next album?

Ashes: Totally!

E[x]ecutor: Yes, they will be different, without leaving the original idea of a Harsh EBM / Industrial sound. We have evolved our sound, growing to get an own personality for our band.

On your myspace people can also download an album for free called “Remix War” what made you decide to do this, is it a tribute to your fans?

Ashes: This album was released only for fans, in 2009 we made a lot of contacts and we would like to offer the sound of Xperiment interpreted by very good artist of all around the world to the people. For all the fans that would like to have this album on CD, we made a limited edition of 250 CD’s. This CD is available on www.disconexus.com because this shop send CD’s to all the world!... Well, we decide to put it on direct download because we want to give it for free. Now there’s no problem, but when we released Remix War, people of some parts of the world, can’t find Xperiment’s album on their habitual stores... Now with Disconexus and the help of 6 labels, this problem it’s already solved!

E[x]ecutor: Is a huge and deep “Thanks!” to everyone who follow us, it’s a gift for all them and we were curious to listen us under the point of view of other bands.

How did you get in contact with the bands for the remixes, how did you get them to do the remix?

Ashes: We put a message on myspace to announce this remix CD and asking for collaborations, some bands write us to confirm his participation, and we contact with the other bands. Always is the same ;)

E[x]ecutor: There are bands who ask us for a remix kit, and we ask others to remix us, many of these bands are on Remix War, it’s a collaboration between music loving friends.

Were you surprised by some of the remixes, after all bands gave their own touch to your music?

Ashes: Sincerely? YES! For example, I was sourprised a lot with remixes of bands like Mordacious, Antythesys (Ex Alien Vampires), C-Lekktor, 2 Bullets, Vigilante... wow, if I listen the CD again... I think that all of them are great musicians! And very good friends too!

E[x]ecutor:  a great “yes”, all of them surprised me, specially remixes of C-Lekktor, Blood'out, A-Industrya and Gradual Hate impact me.

Xperiment are currently working to release their 2nd album ‘Visions Of Destruction’ how is it going & what can we expect from this album?

Ashes: Will be a double CD, this is sure. The first CD will includes all new songs and in the second...? Surprise! But I recommend everybody to visit our vampirefreaks profile at www.vampirefreaks.com/xperiment and take a listen! This is our new sound and this is an example of all that you will find on the new CD. We are a band that always work really hard... We make all: Production, mixing, equalization, mastering, lyrics, recordings... all! We don’t send our tracks to another person to make the mixing, mastering... because this person couldn change your ‘vision’ of the album, if you make all the process, you decide your own sound... Only wait to 2011. I’m sure that the wait will be rewarded.

E[x]ecutor: A complete work, well done and a new sound, different of whatever scene offers today.

Xperiment

Xperiment are going to do their first LIVE show at Electro Army Festival which takes place in October, First of all Well done. Secondly after this LIVE event will we be seeing more LIVE events for Xperiment in the future, If so where would the ideal LIVE show be held?

Ashes: Yeah! But now we are very busy with the next album, by this way we can’t play in 1.000 shows. It’s possible that we make some shows until 2011 but when we release our new album... prepare your bodies!

E[x]ecutor: Yes, there wil be more live shows, I love them! This will be the first for Xperiment but I get a lot of satisfactions on the scene on the past with other bands I’ve played. I’d like to play in important fests, vibe with thousand people and of course, play in some of the most important clubs around the world.

How do you prepare for a first live concert? Will you play the songs live as they are on the album or will the live versions deviate from the album versions?

Ashes: We are preparing some videos to share on screens, we’ve made some merch for fans… Xperiment will present the new look, and in the live show I will sing, but in the moments when I don’t sing, I’ll play another different keyboards on the songs.

E[x]ecutor: We’ll live play all that we could, but we’ve got no 24 hands! Hahaha. We’ll try that will be more than listen a CD, an audio-visual connection with the people.

We are now at the end of our interview, Is there anything else you would like to say to our readers?

Ashes: First of all, thank you for interview us!!! and for our fans... Thanks for your support! For your comments! And for all! 2011 will be a good year for Xperiment, but for the moment enjoy with the tracks of our vampirefreaks profile and the Remix War CD. And the most important: spread the word. This way will be possible to meet in the future! See you!!!
