Terrolokaust - God Loves the Violence

Terrolokaust’s newest album God Loves the Violence takes what I loved of their previous conception of GAS & modernizes it with what natural evolution offers through experience, time and contemplative depth.  The content consists of fighting words and is greatly inspired by war history and politics. There is intense intellectual injection and for me it pulsates with conviction.   Do not shy because of the gravity of the topics, the creators actually have dynamic influence from brutal electronica to metal. In the fiery super-sonic rhythms, intensity of instrumentation there’s plenty to love for terror and dance enthusiasts.

God Loves the Violence, No Control, IgnoranZe, Evolution of Tomorrow... all the tracks sit like statements.  They’re direct, heated & undoubtedly “personal anthem” material for anyone who feels the average plagues of internal conflict of life, bearing witness to the flaws of society, lazied indifference.  There is a cohesiveness to the entire album, the music never over powers the vocals or vice versa.  The female vocals and audio clips are used precisely to offer embellishment, enhance or cultivate mood in select tracks.  The lyrics are straightforward but that doesn’t imply a flaw.  Are messages that echo failure, show the primitive ways of humanity, our realities, capabilities, past or present negative?  A reason to stir sorrow?  Sometimes being open with historical timelines & showing an ability to evolve or change is actually inspiring.  You’re not a solitary figure in these thoughts, it’s not necessary to be discreet about disdain or suffering, the candor is charming.  Each song carries it’s own individual story but they’re not saturated with verbal monotony and Javi displays a remarkable variety of different vocal forms.

With it’s distinctive electronic sound & offerings of singing style experimentation it’s impossible for the abilities present or embedded underlying passion in each lyrical proclamation to go unacknowledged or under-appreciated. It’s a risk to be candid with your personal beliefs, shed the cloak of ambiguity.  Music is a stellar creation, we can ascribe personal meaning to it however we desire.  In this album there are profound intimate beliefs made evident & clear.  In this instance I develop a true affection of the work because of the content.

Reaper Dirty Cash CD cover

Reaper - Dirty Cash

Dirty cash is one of those catchy party albums that grabs you, shakes you and makes you dance. The leading track "Dirty Cash" is catchy and foot tapping I couldn't stop listening to it. There is also some familiarity with this album with various samples used including "No Good for Me (Start The Dance)" in "Purple Rain" which gives it that extra edge and shows Vasi’s background.
Most striking on this ep are the vocals. The vocals for the track “Dirty Cash” are done by Pete Crane of Shiv-R who did a great job and personally I think his vocals fit in better that Vasi’s voice. Also Javi of the band Terrolokaust did a great vocaljob on the track Dinero Sucio.

With so many remixes on here by the likes of Ad Inferna, Syncrotek and Sklya Vertex, this CD has a sound for everyone but the majority will love it. I'd part with my Dirty Cash for this CD.

Resist The Ride

Resist - The Ride

Resist are one of those annoyingly catchy bands that get your foot tapping from the onset right at the start. Catchy rhythms and catchy vocals on "Tattooed" really give you a true sense of what this album is about. The album is certainly more instrument based rather than relying on pure synths and samples and credit due where it's due especially with "Freak", "Crush Me" and "Paralysed". This album is full of attitude in the vocals the only wish i have is that the music would reflect this attitude if only to add to the album more.

Psyborg Corp

Psyborg Corp - The Mechanical Renaissance

Oh I've wanted to review this since I first interviewed the band in 2009, infact there has been alot of buzz regarding Psyborg's album "The Mechanical Renaissance". Released through Noitekk, this album is buzzing and in a good way. This is what i'd call a good all rounder. It would be one of the best albums to appeal to new fans and bring them over to the industrial and electronica side of things. "My Mechatronics" is still my favourite on this album but I'm also very quickly falling in love with the catchyness of "Nanotech and the Grey Replicators", "Starbeam Antartica" with it's hyper catchy hardcore style keys that is enough to get the crowd bouncing and begging for more. The album cools down and ends with "In Our Chaotic Network" which is a nice ending touch almost a winding down a party and a party this album certainly is. I love it!

Psy'Aviah

Psy'Aviah-Eclectric 2 cd edition

I was sent this album to review so i was going in the dark completely on this one. Definitely an album with contrast and what I'd call more the chilled out variety of Electronic music. I could listen to this in a club or at home mellowing out. It really is an album for any occasion and I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I like some tracks on here like "All About You", "Ophelie", "Twisted Mind" and "Paranoid". But then when you get to the 2nd disc with the remixes it brings these songs and the rest of the album alive. It gives you party atmosphere and that urge to get up and dance. So this album to me personally is like 2 sides to a book and my heart prefers the first half to chill to and the 2nd half to party to. All in all a win win album either way you look at it.

Schwarzblut - Das ausoleum-2CD-Limited_Edition

This album is hard to describe, it has that ambience to it at the start of "Nähe Des Geliebten" and then 3 minutes in the electronica that we all know and love takes this track to another level. It is certainly a well balanced album with some of my favourite tracks including "Das Mandat", "Der Abschied (Desolat Remix by Misery" and "Sterbelied". This album in places really gives me that sense of feeling from the 80's, it concentrates more on melody rather than a fast tempo which I find hard to find nowadays. The vocals on each track add contrast and mix well with the style of music Schwarzblut are creating here. Definitely one to listen to before heading to the clubs out there. I love "Die Eine Klage" the last track on the album which really does get your electronic pulse racing and like the rest of this album, it gets you in that party mood.

Terrolokaust CD Gas

Terrolokaust – Gas

This is a very powerful album, which is brought together by harsh EBM beats and lyrics which really express certain repressed feelings.
You will also find many aspects of the Second World War within the tracks
Such as various German speeches also the beats indicate German marches and not forgetting the lyrics which contain WW2 events.
Put all the ‘History’ aside and look at the album from another perspective it’s good strong beats are a hit on the dancefloor.

De_Tot_Cor

This album is a definite floor filler
With its high frequented techno beats

Arain1

Arian 1-  Immersion global edition

Arian 1 is a distinguished project hailing from Peru and to be considered notable within the underground community. Their follow up album Immersion to their 2009 release Evolution is like an alluring siren that has a collective beauty garnering influence from a myriad of genres. This to me is also always a sincere joy to encounter, experimental artists that draw inspiration from a variety of neighboring or less likely genres or sources. A classical reference to what one desires of electro and EBM, crisp rhythmic beats, vocals, impacting and thoughtful lyrics. The vocal transitions in themselves are noteworthy, there is variation in presentation throughout the various tracks intermingling with complimentary but dynamic sounds which voices the passion of the words to the upmost. Immersion is in its entirety a complete cohesive presentation. Though I have personally fallen for all the charm “Sigma” possesses, I am impressed other-wise for the reason alone that it can be rare for me to be satisfied with all of the tracks an album is comprised of. I think it’s a testament to a project possessing their own confident identity within the music industry and their personality is only made more evident in their productions. I’m left satiated, smiling and my bones desire to move.
