Summer Darkness is a dark underground interdisciplinair festival, located in beautiful premises of the gothic city centre of Utrecht. Apart from the location, Summer Darkness outshines in a mixture of music, gothic fashion, arts, market, gothic picnics, underground dancenights, boattrips etc.
A quick glance at this years line-up, plus the ones from previous years, will show that Summer Darkness brings together a varied array of bands and genres today's underground has to offer. Gothrock, retro-wave, gothic-metal, avant-garde, darkambient, hellectro, medieval, neo-folk, EBM, darkwave, synthpop, industrialrock, futurepop, neo-classical or noise: take your pick, its all there.

Summer Darkness is located in the unique premises of Utrecht city centre. Venues, squares, gothic churches, museums and old University buildings are used for our concerts, underground clubnights, arts, literature, workshops, fashion and markets. Be aware: The venues vary in size. If you really want to see an act: make sure you are on time. When it's full, it's full.

Just like previous years, Summer Darkness will organise an atmospheric market on the Dom square during the festival. The market will consist of market stands, fashion shows, a terrace and live performances. There will be some good food available, as well as drinks!

If you come to Utrecht by car, please remember, parking in the city centre is very expensive.
